It’s often seen that more than setting the Goals, it’s getting employees to update those Goals periodically is what’s a bigger challenge for organizations. It’s not their fault as amid the day-to-day work, it’s normal for people to forget updating their goals. And Goals check-in reminders are a great way to solve this.
With the check-in reminders, admins as well as managers can decide on a particular day/ date on which all their team members (entire company in case of admins) will receive a notification to update their Goals. First time you login to Mesh, you’ll find a default monthly frequency for the Goal check-in reminders. However, this can be customized by both admins and managers in a way that,
- Admins can set a blanket reminder frequency for the entire organization
- Managers can overwrite the admin settings and customize the reminder frequency for their own team
The way this works is,
Step 1: Once you’re logged in on your Mesh account, go to Me >> Goals >> Settings.
Step 2: Move to Default Goals check-in Frequency. To change the default frequency, click on the blue button at the right side of this (only possible for admins).
Step 3: This will open a dropdown from where you can setup a weekly, fortnightly or monthly frequency along with the precise day for the reminders. Once done, hit save.
Now, if you’re a manager and wish to have a customized reminder schedule just for your team, you have the option to overwrite the admin created schedule. For this,
Step 1: Click on the Goals tab on the top navigation bar and from the dropdown select your team’s Goals.
Step 2: Once inside, click on the bell icon, sitting right before the timeline dropdown on the top right corner.
Step 3: This will open a dropdown from where you can setup a weekly, fortnightly or monthly frequency along with the precise day for the reminders. Once done, hit save.
It's not mandatory for the admins to first set a reminder frequency. Even if they don't do it, managers can still set it up for their respective teams.
With this, your team members will have no excuse for not checking-in on their Goals, which will help you always be on the top of your team’s progress.
